Monique's Story: A Beacon of Hope

Monique, a resident of Michigan, found herself trapped in a cycle of domestic violence. The fear and isolation she endured for years threatened to steal her spirit. But Monique is a survivor. When she reached out for help, the Land Rights Defenders stepped in. Our team worked tirelessly to ensure Monique’s safety, arranging a safe passage to Ohio, far from her abuser.

In Ohio, Monique received comprehensive support through It’s Her Time to Shine. Through counseling, workshops, and a supportive community, she began to heal. She learned to manage her trauma, rediscovered her self-worth, and started rebuilding her life. Today, Monique is a thriving member of our community. She volunteers her time to help other women facing similar struggles, offering them a beacon of hope and a testament to the transformative power of It’s Her Time to Shine.
